  Pinctada McAlpine house is the antithesis to all the Broome resorts, boutique (only eight rooms), unique and historically connected to the story of Broome. It is a calm oasis, full of rambling decks, colourful artwork, a library and an aviary - this is where to go if you don't want a large resort experience, but a charmingly personal one. Marilyn and her staff are wonderful, so friendly and cheerful. And eating breakfast at the big table with the other guests is such a lovely way to start your day, and creates a real sense of friendship and comradery. I'm so glad we stayed here, it was a charming addition to our time in Broome.
